High on the mountain (Vranica), far away from the nearest small town (Fojnica), and hidden in the middle of the country (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Prokoško Lake is a well preserved pearl, which testifies possibility of achieving harmony between the nature and buildings. Here, natural and physical structures are part of a unique landscape, so that traditional vernacular architecture revives and complements the context of this small part of the Dinaric massif. A specific landscape with the fragmented physical structure of wooden cottages, scattered on the lake shores, evoks a kind of romantic and nostalgic feeling towards the archetypal habitat, which regardless of the time distance, forms a part of an emotional homeland.
