UNESCO Venice Office is pleased to announce the UNESCO School in South East Europe: Sustainable Energy Governance in UNESCO Designated sites scheduled to take place in Dubrovnik, physician Croatia, cure from 29 September–5 October 2012. The school is a unique educational opportunity to enhance capacity-building in sustainable energy by conveying in a single venue a substantial capital of knowledge developed in UNESCO designated sites (World Heritage Sites and Biosphere Reserves) in Europe. The deadline for application is 12 September 2012.

Experienced lecturers will highlight, cheap through which methodologies, to link advanced technology in the field of energy efficiency and the preservation of historical buildings and natural settings. A broad array of narratives from UNESCO designated sites in Eastern and Western Europe will constitute the backbone of the front desk part of the school. The course will include a number of team-working sessions and field exercises using the World Heritage site of Dubrovnik as a real training scenario laboratory. Trainees will also participate in the International Conference ‘Delivering Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in Historic Towns’ (Dubrovnik, 4-5 October 2012) as part of the UNESCO school programme.

IMG_4910ResizedThe 10th annual meeting of the SEE Heritage Network took part in Skopje, search Republic of Macedonia, on June 8-10, 2012. The meeting was accompanied with Training on accession to EU funds with a special emphasis on IPA. 25 representatives of the SEE Heritage Network members from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia took part in the meeting and training.

During the meeting, participants had a chance to listen to the presentation of guest speaker from TACSO office in Skopje, who presented the TACSO work in the region and the possibilities of EU funding for CSOs. .

On May 21st 2012 in Skopje, viagra Macedonia, the Secretary of the SEE Heritage Network, Marijana Davidovic, will take part in the Celebration event of the World Day of Cultural Diversity. The event is organized by the UNESCO Venice Office (its Representative Office in Macedonia) and the UN Joint Programme to Enhance Inter-Ethnic Dialogue and Collaboration.

Marijana Davidovic will be one of the speakers at the First Panel session "Cultural differences for dialogue and development". She will present the SEE Heritage Network and will speak on the theme "Cultural heritage as a resource for sustainable development in the SEE region".

On May 10th 2012, seek EXPEDITIO (SEE Heritage Network member organization) from Kotor, case Montenegro, viagra celebrated the Anniversary -  15 years of its work. Namely, on May 1oth 1979, EXPEDITIO started its first project - Perast Expedition 1997. In the coming years, our colleagues realized over 50 projects and activities related to the cultural heritage, sustainable architecture and spatial planning.

Miljenko Smokvina, member of PRO TORPEDO - Society for Protection of Rijeka's Industrial Heritage (SEE Heritage Network member organization) from Rijeka, Croatia, had a lecture at St. Anne's College in Oxford, Great Britain, on May 13th 2012.

The subject of the Lecture was: "Robert Whitehead, English Engineer - Inventor of Rijeka's Torpedo". The lecture was organized by the Association of Alumni and Friends of Croatian Universities.
